FAQ

  • What can I expect in my first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, your goals, and explore whether we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for.

  • Are your services covered by insurance?

Services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) are often covered by extended health insurance plans. We do not bill directly, but you will get a detailed invoice to submit at the end of each session. I recommend checking with your provider to confirm your coverage before our first session.

  • How long is each session?

Each session is 50-minutes in length unless discussed otherwise.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

I require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed (no-show) appointments, will be charged the full session fee. This policy helps protect both your time and mine, and ensures I can continue to offer consistent care to all clients.

  • How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions. We’ll decide together what frequency feels supportive and sustainable for your needs.

  • How long do I have to be in Therapy?

The length of therapy varies for each person and depends on your goals, the challenges you're facing, and the pace that feels right for you. Some people come for a few sessions to work through something specific, while others stay longer for ongoing support and deeper exploration. We’ll regularly check in together to make sure therapy continues to meet your needs.

  • Is therapy confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a core part of the therapeutic relationship. What you share in session stays between us, with a few legal and ethical exceptions. We’ll go over these limits in more detail during our first session, and you're always welcome to ask questions.

  • How do I know if therapy is for me?

If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply want support navigating life’s challenges, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. Many people come to better understand themselves, improve relationships, or find new ways to cope.

  • How do I pay for sessions?

Payment is due at the end of the session and can be made by credit/debit. A receipt will be provided, which you can submit to your insurance provider if applicable.
